Presence, 2020

Peckham Safehouses exhibition postponed due to COVID-19

Blurring the boundaries between societal otherness and the cult experience. Presence is a performance piece proposed to take place within a crowded, public sphere. Over a set period of time, the crowd becomes silently infiltrated a mass of girls identically clothed in white oversized dresses. Creating a sense of confusion, unnerve and intrigue, they simply walk around and ignore the public’s attempt of interaction. At a set time, the girls take off their dresses, dropping them to the floor and walk away. Leaving sculptural fabric mounds in the space, along with the question, why did they flee?/
